PRIVACY AND TERMS

Updated January 2020

Welcome to the website of Mideast Rescue. Thank you for partnering with us to bring love, relief, and selfless service to marginalized and war-torn communities across the Middle East.

We pledge to value your privacy, and steward every dollar you donate like it was donated after four back-to-back 12 hour shifts. Without you, there’s no us. Thank you!

For the purpose of this privacy policy, donor FAQs and terms & conditions, Mideast Rescue may be referred to as: “Mideast Rescue Corps,” “we,” “us,” “our,” “the crew,” “leadership team,” “the organization,” “Mideast Rescue” and any other appropriate terms you may use in order to describe us. You are referred to as… “you,” the one who is accessing our website, reading this message and God willing a current or future supporter.

PRIVACY POLICY

General

We are a bit of personal information security freaks and take the collection, storage and usage of your personal information just as serious. We are committed to protecting the personal information of our donors and anyone who submits any form available on our website. We will not sell, share or trade your personal information with any other entity. We, us, the organization’s leadership team can only access and use the information you intentionally provide us. We do not use cookies, analytics software or any other secret squirrel data tracking.

With that in mind, the only information we have access to, that you are unintentionally providing this very second, is your computer IP address. Our website service provider includes this as a built in function. We do not do anything with your computer IP address… we don’t even look. However, if you still feel that anxious twitch creeping in, we recommend using a VPN for all your internet browsing and online shopping needs. News flash, every website is recording your IP address. 👀

Donor Privacy

As you generously enter and submit your credit card or ACH bank transfer information, your financial data is safeguarded by our third party payment processing service, Stripe.

We use the personal information you provide to: Keep track of your generous support, send you receipts, thank you emails, cute little postcards a couple times a year; plus an official donor acknowledgement letter at the end of each year. If you prefer we do not have your mailing address, please do not provide it. Now is a good time to mention that all donations made to Mideast Rescue Corps are tax-deducible because we are an IRS designated 501c3 nonprofit 🙌.

Form Privacy

If you complete a form on our website, we will use that information to contact you. We will safely store that information and use it for the stated and/or similar purpose. We will not share the information you provide with any other entity unless you specifically grant us permission to do so.

Donor FAQs

Why should you donate to Mideast Rescue and where does your money go?

Your contributions support the fulfillment of our mission and directly partners with us to help provide training and continuing education for local humanitarians, civil servants, healthcare professionals and community lay-providers. Furthermore, Your contributions help provide medical care to underserved and displaced families.

We’d say you and your contributions are pretty darn important. Mission-critical to be exact. If not for you, your family and your support, there would be no us. Thank you!

Are my donations tax deductible?

YES. Praise-da-Lord! Mideast Rescue Corps is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

If I make a donation, how do I get my tax-deduction receipt?

You should receive an email receipt within minutes after submitting your online donation. However, depending on the payment method used, it can take 1 – 7 business days for the receipt to arrive.

You will also receive a yearly Donor Acknowledgement Letter that recognizes all the financial contributions you made to Mideast Rescue in a given fiscal year. If you do not wish to receive a paper copy by mail, one will be sent to the email account you provided during the donation process.

Why is there a minimum donation for credit cards?

Fraud is the short answer. While we are incredibly grateful and value every dollar donated, it is not uncommon for fraudsters to use donation sites to test stolen credit cards. They tend to use a very small amount for their testing and a minimum donation amount helps deter fraudulent activity.

Is my donation really used as designated?

Yes, and possibly no. The Mideast Rescue leadership team will do our very best to honor your donation designation. That being said, we reserves the right to use any and all funds [and resources] to respond lovingly to the unmet needs and duties set before us. Assuredly, you would not expect anything less from us.

What is your refund policy?

In the unfortunate circumstance you come down with donor’s remorse, or accidentally keyed-in one too many zeros during your online donation process - could happen to any of us - we will honor refund requests made within 15 days of your donation.

Please include the following information in your request:

  • Full name of donor

  • Date of donation

  • Amount donated

  • Payment method used (e.g. Credit Card, ACH Bank Transfer, Apple Pay) — DO NOT share your credit card number! We don’t need to get that invasive.

  • Country of origin

  • Reason for the refund

We will do our best to process your refund as quickly as possible.
Please expect a couple email exchanges and 7-14 business days before your refund is complete.
